The theme this week may evoke recognition of a certain artist and a seminal artwork that forever redefined what could be accepted as art: Marcel Duchamp. 'Ready Made' is this year's OBEL focus, urging us to leverage architectural insight to work with what already exists, be it materials, buildings or systems at large. As such, the relation to the origin of Ready Made is not intentional—yet, in a way, it is.

It feels fitting that this letter coincides with STIR's sixth anniversary. Congratulations on being a continuous inspiration. Like us, STIR fits the Danish word 'skæv': something offbeat in the best possible way. From the start, we've been driven by a desire to dissolve silos, challenge conventions and stir up how architecture can shape a better, more equitable future. Because we urgently need it.
This year's OBEL Award winner couldn't be more ready-made. For the first time, the prize goes to a movement: HouseEurope!—a call to action and a democratic tool to drive legal change. What if becoming an architect of our collective future starts with something as simple as taking a 'skæv' approach and signing their petition?
