CANNES GOLD
This Week From The Editor

If humanity, impartiality, and truth are cornerstones of journalism, it is the courage to embrace criticality that defines any journalistic platform’s position. We look at the world through the mediums of art, design, and architecture, to challenge and build equitable spaces of co-existence.

Jin, Jiyan, Azadi!

STIR & FCB India won Gold at Cannes Industry Craft Lions 2023 with 'Untangling the Politics of Hair', lamenting a haunting vision of a woman draped in a prison of her own hair, a potent intervention on the despotism faced by women.

The win cements the capacity of art and journalism to generate discourse, to magnify voices that support common realities. Meanwhile, Liverpool Biennial breaks away from colonial and postcolonial conditioning, and Venice Biennale reclaims the identities of those navigating a racialised world.

This week's issue deliberates on confronting narratives of exploitation, summing up the collective roar of humanity in the face of oppression.
