Artists for Firefly is a unique fundraising exhibition, featuring specially commissioned works by leading contemporary artists, created in support of Firefly International and their ongoing work to help children affected by war globally. Established by artist, Nick Goss and hosted at Bonhams, Edinburgh, in collaboration with Artwise Curators, Artists for Firefly will feature new works on paper by 21 leading contemporary artists.

All works in this exhibition have been generously donated by the artists, with 100% of the proceeds from their sale supporting Firefly International.

Artist, Nick Goss said: “It’s a testament to what Firefly are doing that there wasn’t a single artist I talked to who didn’t immediately offer a work for the project. They are a small grassroots charity that have a lot of heart and try and tackle the problems children face in war zones in a localised, specific way that is incredibly important and inspiring.

Reflecting the vital work of Firefly, the participating artists have created work on the theme of childhood, with 100% of the proceeds raised from each sale going directly to support children in Firefly’s project areas around the world.

Format of selling exhibition: Works will be available to buy online and in person from Bonhams from 6pm on September 28th.

Firefly International
Founded in 1995 by an Edinburgh student who travelled to post-war Bosnia and began bringing displaced children together through art and music, Firefly International has grown into a charity working across Bosnia, Syria and Palestine. We run the only inter-ethnic youth club and pre-school in Brčko, provide trauma-informed education to children affected by war in Syria, and support Palestinian child refugees in Cairo through art therapy and learning. We believe in deep, long-term partnerships, not quick fixes, and in the power of creativity and education to heal trauma and rebuild trust in divided communities.
