Asia NOW has worked to transcend the boundaries that have long defined Asia. Rooted in a vision of championing contemporary art from Asia and its diasporas, the fair continues to question the ways of conventional art fairs, moving beyond its function as a marketplace or incubator. Instead, it creates a space for new perspectives to emerge, proposing Asia not simply as a geography, but as a methodology. To decenter Asia is to champion the idea of Global Asias. The region is not fixed, nor can it be understood through one history, one geography, or one cultural lens. It is made through exchanges, migrations, and relationships that continuously reshape its borders. Asia NOW has grown within this complexity, creating a kind of kinship where different practices and perspectives can coexist, intersect, and challenge one another.
Bringing together leading galleries, artists, and curators from across the region, while connecting artistic voices from Asia and its diasporas with the international art community in Paris and beyond, Asia NOW foregrounds the distinct conditions from which these practices emerge through its programmes, creating space for meaningful exchange across cultures.
The fair is not simply a meeting point between Asia and the world; it is a space in which those relationships are continuously negotiated, expanded, and reimagined.
For its 12th edition, galleries including Esther Schipper (Paris and Berlin), Kaikai Kiki Gallery (Tokyo), Sabrina Amrani (Madrid), Loy Contemporary (Singapore), and The Drawing Room (Manila) reinforce the depth and continuity of the fair's international
network.
Their return is not simply a repetition, but a continuation: an opportunity to see how practices evolve, how conversations deepen, and what emerges from an ongoing relationship.
At the same time, each edition opens the ground to new dimensions and new encounters.
This year, Asia NOW welcomes galleries participating for the first time, including Spazio Nobile (Brussels), presenting to finalists of LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize, Pao Hui Kao and Didi Ng Wing Yin, VER Gallery (Bangkok), co-founded by Rirkrit Tiravanija, Double Square (Taipei), and Lux Feminae (New York). In dialogue with the wider international art landscape, and with Venice still resonating, Tala (Chicago) presents never-before-seen works by Jon Cuyson, who represented the Philippines at the Venice Biennale, alongside THE Gallery (Bamberg), presenting works by, among others, Nomin Bold, the artist featured at the Mongolian Pavilion.
The Third Space
The Third Space positions Asia NOW at the front of this shift: a section where Asia NOW cultivates audiences that gives galleries room to take curatorial risks, reach new communities, and present work in dialogue with one of Paris' most visually- striking historic landmarks, La Monnaie de Paris.
Inspired by theorist Homi Bhabha's concept of the "Third Space," this section explores cultural hybridity, and transformation, as well as the idea that meaning is not produced within a single culture, but in the space between cultures, where they intersect, translate, and transform one another.
ASIA NOW LAUNCHES NEW VOICES
For its 12th edition, Asia NOW launches NEW VOICES, a programme dedicated to emerging curators and collectives whose practices reflect this shifting landscape. Rather than defining a singular "next generation," the programme brings together a plurality of voices, perspectives and approaches offering a snapshot of a curatorial ecosystem in motion, constantly evolving, connecting and redefining itself.
PUBLIC PROGRAM
The public programme is at the core of Asia NOW, extending the festival beyond the exhibition floor A special site-specific installation by Nirmiti Collective at Asia NOW. Extending the fair into a wider landscape of encounters between artists, curators, designers, filmmakers, artisans, performers, and audiences in the public space, bespoke site-specific programs create new points of connection.
