Design Biennale Zurich 2023

SHIFT - 1–19.9.2023

Details

The Design Biennale Zurich is a platform for experimental design. With the theme SHIFT, the fourth edition is dedicated to small and big changes. Regardless of whether it's an object, society, or the climate, constant change is taking place. What does this look like and what influence can design have on it?

The exhibition at the Old Botanical Garden UZH consists of 15 interactive design installations created specifically for the Design Biennale Zurich. These installations make the exploration of the SHIFT theme tangible for visitors. A diverse supporting program offers public and private guided tours, workshops for children and adults, as well as special events

The Talent Award by Swiss Re
For the first time, the Design Biennale Zurich will present the Talent Award by Swiss Re. This award aims to spotlight emerging talents. Visitors to the exhibition are invited to vote for their favorite project among five contributions nominated by the curators.
The project with the highest number of public votes will be awarded the Talent Award by Swiss Re, which comes with a prize of CHF 5000. The award ceremony will be taking place at the Talent Award Night on September 15, 2023, at the schwarzescafé located in the Löwenbräu Complex in Zurich.
