Details
Challenging the format of established large-scale design events, Mexico Design Fair is an intimate experience for a select group of design collectors with events through the weekend. The core of MDF is the central exhibition where a fine selection of contemporary design objects will be exclusively presented before they become publicly accessible. The exhibition is curated through a thought-provoking narrative around these objects.Location
The main exhibition will be hosted at Casa Naila. Designed by Alfonso Quiñones, this ocean facing property merges contemporary Mexican design and local character surrounded by 20-thousand square feet of private beach.
Designer of the Year
To celebrate a Mexican design leader with a decade-long career, Mexico Design Fair presents the Designer Of The Year award. The jury is composed of designers, specialized curators, museum professionals, and educators. The award aims to inspire younger generations of designers and recognize those who excel through a well-rounded career.
The New Design Collectors
The attendees to the fair form an effervescent mix of designers, gallerists, artists, collectors, curators, and architects with a particular sensibility for design objects, and are looking for new acquisition experiences. These individuals embody the values and characteristics of the design collector of the 21st century: they are knowledgeable risk-takers, open-minded thinkers, and critical analyzers.
The guests of Mexico Design Fair then are trailblazers for a new scene in the contemporary design arena.
