Nilufar and Métaphores come together to present In the Mood for Touch, an immersive installation set within the Métaphores showroom in Paris. The project transforms the space into a refined, sensorial environment that merges the understated elegance of French soft-furnishing fabrics with the expressive materiality of Nilufar Edition, a unique foray into the world of furnishings that rejects conventional thinking.
Curated and designed by Nilufar and its founder Nina Yashar, together with Mètaphores, In the Mood for Touch reflects a shared passion for materials, emotion and artistic storytelling. At the heart of the installation is a selection of works from Nilufar Edition—a curated series of collectible furniture designed by Yashar in collaboration with today’s most compelling contemporary designers. Lush velvets, sculptural jacquards, iridescent silks and textured wools—woven with exceptional finesse by Métaphores—envelop each object in a rich, tactile language. These materials do more than cover; they shape the identity of each piece, encouraging a deeper connection between viewer and space.
In the Mood for Touch showcases how the intersection of design and textile can redefine spatial experience. By combining Nilufar Edition’s furniture with Métaphores’ refined fabrics, the installation highlights the transformative power of materials in shaping mood, atmosphere and the way we relate to interior space. It reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship, customisation and a contemporary language of living.
