At Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, the Egyptian-American industrial designer Karim Rashid, presents a new body of work that develops furniture through the lens of circular design. Created in collaboration with Polish brand LOOPE, the contemporary design collection premiered on April 22, 2026, in Hall 22 (B23) at the fairgrounds in Rho, Milan. “We wanted to show that responsibility and design ambition can go hand in hand. Inviting Rashid to collaborate was a natural step for us—we were looking for someone who understands that truly bold design begins with asking what we can do with what already exists,” explains Łukasz Karaszewski, founder and CEO of LOOPE, in the official release.

For Rashid, whose career has been defined by futuristic aesthetics and fluid, organic forms, the project represents a continuation of a decades-long critique of disposable culture.“The chair, sunbed, table and planters are not static products. They are part of an ongoing transformation. When the user returns the product, the material becomes a new design. This circular process removes waste and creates a new emotional relationship between people and the objects they live with…Design should evolve, not expire,” the contemporary designer mentions in the press release.

The collection introduces three series—ANIMA, RISE and SWAY—that engage with the principles of a closed-loop system. While the collaboration is anchored by LOOPE’s circular production model, the visual and conceptual direction is Rashid’s. His use of bold, biomorphic forms and vibrant colour palettes gives physical expression to sustainability, translating circularity into something experiential and emotionally resonant.

“Together, the objects create a coherent design universe in which nature becomes the language of form. Each piece balances on the boundary between furniture and sculpture, combining functionality with the organic elegance characteristic of Rashid’s philosophy of sensual minimalism. At the same time, the furniture has been designed for a wide range of contexts—from private interiors to public spaces, and for both indoor and outdoor environments,” the press release reads.

All pieces are made from UV-stabilised polyethene, a durable material that can be reprocessed multiple times without losing performance. This enables each design to re-enter production after use, reinforcing the idea of continuity rather than obsolescence.

The installation itself—designed by Naboo Studio—extends Rashid’s vision into space. Conceived as an immersive environment, the stand echoes the principles of circularity through bold forms and colour, encouraging visitors to engage with the objects as part of an evolving system rather than standalone artefacts.
