Nilufar, the Milan-based design gallery founded by Nina Yashar, will participate in the first edition of Salone Raritas, a new initiative by Salone del Mobile.Milano, dedicated to collectible design and high-end craftsmanship, at Fiera Milano Rho, Pavilion 9, Booth 05, from April 21 – 26, 2026. Here, 25 exhibitors will create a new platform, a bridge between special production and the design market, curated by Annalisa Rosso, editorial director and cultural events advisor of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, with exhibition design by Formafantasma.
“I’m very pleased to take part in the inaugural edition of Raritas, which I approach with great curiosity and interest,” Yashar says. “Nilufar was born from a constant desire to explore what has not yet been fully told, giving space to new languages and to objects and visions that come from different contexts and engage in dialogue without hierarchies. Raritas represents something I deeply relate to…a sensibility that I believe is very important to see supported today by an institution like the Salone del Mobile,” she continues.
At Salone Raritas, Nilufar will present a curated selection reflecting Yashar’s vision, bringing together vintage icons, Nilufar Edition furniture and contemporary products. Contemporary designs on view will include Andrea Mancuso’s Terrario table, Maximilian Marchesani’s Famiglia ceiling lamp, Bethan Laura Wood’s Olive mirror from her Aperitivo collection and American contemporary designer Lola Montes’ hand-painted ceramics.
From Nilufar Edition, the Orient modular armchair by david/nicolas, Lantern Stack lighting by Anna Karlin, Tenet side table by Filippo Carandini and Trilangolo rug by Martino Gamper will be featured in the showcase. Nilufar Edition is a project “unique within the world of design, where, free from market constraints, design meets the refined craftsmanship of the Renaissance workshop tradition,” Nilufar notes in an official release. The vintage selection includes works by Edward J. Wormley, Joaquim Tenreiro, Ico Parisi and Ignazio Gardella, alongside eighteenth-century Venetian mirrors, tracing a historical thread through the evolution of collectible design.
“I’m fascinated by the idea of contributing to something new and supporting a project that looks ahead, thanks to the curatorial sensibility of Annalisa Rosso, the vision of Formafantasma and the energy of Maria Porro, with whom I share the belief in a design culture capable of opening up new fields of meaning. Rather than anticipating what comes next, I prefer to keep challenging myself, trusting in the new and in that pioneering spirit which, I believe, is part of Nilufar’s DNA.” Yashar notes.
Nilufar Gallery’s presentation emphasises its ongoing commitment to experimentation, research and cross-cultural dialogue within design. “By bringing together different worlds within a coherent vision, Nilufar’s participation in Raritas expresses its multifaceted identity while reaffirming its commitment to presenting collectible design as a space for dialogue, experimentation and discovery,” Nilufar concludes.
