Empathic, the new exhibition at InGalleria, is the fourth step Punta Conterie is taking in its path to the recognition of the Muranese reality. First was the prestigious solo exhibition of Lino Tagliapietra, followed by Glass and Design, dedicated to the historic glass factories of the twentieth century, and Murano in Focus, displaying works by the three photographs Roberta Orio, Luigi Bussolati and Massimo Gardone, who explored the identity of the island and glass through their very personal points of view. And now Empathic, that in a way gets to the very heart of Murano’s vocation: production. Eight internationally renowned designers, all from different geographical areas, have ventured into original research on glassmade in Murano. Richard Hutten combined lines and colours to create a solid object with different shades.
The inspiration for Layered comes on one side from the centuries-old craft of glassmaking in Murano. It is a celebration of their skills. At the same time, the colourful appearance of this work is a celebration of life in all its aspects, facets and layers.
