Bernice is a visual artist represented by Galerie Youn in Montreal who has shown her work at various art fairs including a sold-out show at Miami Pulse during Art Basel Week, Foire Papièr in Montreal, Art Toronto and Art Palm Beach.

She graduated from Graphic Design at Sheridan School of Visual Arts in 1984 and freelanced for several design companies including Citytv/Muchmusic’s design department. In 1988, she moved to London, England where began illustrating for numerous design consultants including Addison Worldwide, Michael Peters, Wolff Olins and Newell and Sorrell working with clients from Post Office UK to Nottingham Building Society.

Bernice had published her first four children’s books with Bloomsbury Children’s Books and continued to illustrate over 50 children’s books with various publishers worldwide including HarperCollins Children’s Books USA. Her first two “not-sochildren’s sex books,” ’12 steps to heaven’ and ‘More steps to heaven’ sold over 150,000 copies worldwide combined while continuing her commercial work with clients in the UK, North America, Korea and Japan.

After a nine-year stay in the UK, Bernice returned to Toronto to continue her illustration career. It was during this time she started showing personal works in solo and group shows from her girl line drawings and stuffed LUMBUD bears that had been heavily influenced by the beginning of the online world of dating, feminist ideology, and the darkness and comedy of it

Currently, her main love and focus have been making sculptures by recreating vintage bowling pins to her most favourite iconic characters and painting outdoor murals around the City of Toronto with the start of a new decade for her, she will just carry on doing that with some illustration on the side.
