Design is the right mix between producibility and function, with an eye for shape. Functional beauty is the main core of Mario Alessiani design, where the attention is not focused on shaping but on how to shape, in order to have the most efficiency in the production phase and the object has the will to communicate with its aspects, communicating people how they are done in the most honest way.

Raised by two architects in the centre of Italy, Mario has always been attracted to lighting design. This passion becomes its job after graduating from IED Rome and work experiences in London. In 2013 at 24 years old, he founded his own design firm.

Internationally, he has been selected among the best under 30 Italian creatives by Virginio Briatore and Design People at Triennale Milano. He is a professor at Sichuan Normal University, IED Rome and Unicam, and works for numerous international brands like Axolight, Bogaerts Label, Umbra among others.
