Casa al Mare fuses Mediterranean warmth with British artistry at Gallery FUMI, London

Gallery FUMI presents the second edition of the group show titled Casa al Mare, on view from July 3 – September 6, 2025. The design exhibition captures the romance of Mediterranean living through British craftsmanship—transforming the gallery space in Mayfair, London, with sun-washed blues, terracotta tones and woven sisal underfoot—inviting visitors into a curated coastal escape where 'dolce far niente' meets rustic craftsmanship.

Inspired by Jean Cocteau's film Villa Santo Sospir, Casa al Mare explores the interplay of nature, ornament and form. "Ornamentation fuses with the landscape in each of the works, as the border blurs between material and nature, form and aesthetics, function and beauty," notes Gallery FUMI in an official release.

Works debuting at the show include Archetypes, a vibrant tapestry by Kustaa Saksi, crafted with soft mohair, alpaca wool and cotton in a composition of flickering forms and vivid colours; Francesco Perini's sculptural Pebbles series in Tuscan wood sculpted into organic forms mimicking pebbles balancing on each other on a beach; and ethereal mineral-infused vessels from Leora Honeyman’s Djinn Jar series.

Jeremy Anderson returns with whimsical lighting and vessels, while Romain Carlès and Paul Demarquet make their FUMI debut with sculptural furniture designs. "Echoing the waves, soft breezes and the gentle freedom of the Mediterranean coast, new works by Jeremy Anderson and Carlès & Demarquet speak to the flora and fauna of the French Mediterranean," FUMI notes.

Other standout pieces include Fuzzy III by Charlotte Kingsnorth, a lush faux fur work from her Hi!Breed series, and Rowan Mersh's dynamic wooden sculpture from Pithvava Praegressus. Additional artists and designers presenting in Casa al Mare include atelier lachaert d’hanis, Glithero, JAMESPLUMB, Sam Orlando Miller, Max Lamb, Casey McCafferty, Rowan Mersh, Johannes Nagel, Study O Portable, Voukenas Petrides and Jie Wu.
