At the intersection of sculpture, painting and design lies the Convergent Lines exhibition presented by the Objects With Narratives gallery in Brussels, Belgium, in collaboration with L’appartement, a contemporary art gallery in Geneva. Set across three distinctive rooms, the group show brings together the tactile expressiveness of visual artist Jojo Corväiá, the poetic forms of Amsterdam-based artist and designer Maarten Vrolijk, the mythic symbolism of sculptor Marius Ritiu, and the expressive canvases of painter Mariana Oushiro. What emerges at the contemporary gallery for art, sculptures and collectible design is a layered conversation about material as both medium and message.

Each artist in Convergent Lines shares a deep-rooted engagement with process and form, revealing the architectural within the organic. Corväiá's sculptural ceramics carry the traces of their making—hand-moulded, fire-altered and grounded in ritual. His works suggest the permanence of ancient artefacts while retaining a tactile immediacy that feels wholly contemporary.

Vrolijk's contemporary design pieces, by contrast, embrace the ephemeral beauty of floral and biomorphic forms. The Sakura vessel captures a moment of delicate bloom, while his Blooming Terra series—both sculpture and lighting—translates organic spontaneity into deliberate, poetic sculptural design. With softly exaggerated silhouettes and earthy hues, Vrolijk invites viewers into a sensory world shaped by nature's quiet exuberance.

Ritiu's contributions are cosmic in ambition and mythological in resonance. The Meteor Table II, with its fragmented, cratered surface, evokes celestial encounters rendered in bronze. His Arachne sculpture, which references the Greek myth of transformation, serves as a contemporary meditation on skill and fate. With Cosmic Gloss, Ritiu continues this exploration of the universal and the intimate, crafting a mirrored terrain that refracts both light and meaning.

Completing the art and design exhibition's spatial rhythm are the expressive paintings of Oushiro, whose layered brushwork and compositions draw from the natural world while abstracting it into something emotional, almost meditative.

As Objects with Narratives relays in the show's press release, "The exhibition traces the intersections between fine art, sculpture and design through a shared reverence for materiality, process and architectural influence. Each artist engages deeply with organic forms and natural materials—whether through hand-moulded ceramics, sculptural metalwork, fluid vessels or layered brushwork—foregrounding the tactile and the elemental."
