Living in Color at Galerie kreo unfolds as a sequence of chromatic environments

Galerie kreo presents Living in Color, a new group exhibition examining colour not merely as decoration, but as a mode of living. On view from April 15 – July 18, 2026, the design exhibition brings together contemporary design and vintage works in a sequence of immersive chromatic environments. “The exhibition unfolds through a series of scenes, each built around a chromatic register: from powder pink to cherry red, from bottle green to deep plum, through to kaleidoscopic bursts of color,” Galerie kreo notes in an official release.

Anchored by a quote from Dutch designer Hella Jongerius: “Color is a visual experience, not a scientific one. The fact that there is no objectivity in color is a blessing,” the immersive exhibition approaches colour as an emotional and spatial force. Rather than treating colour as a secondary surface, Living in Color positions it as material in its own right.

Across the environments, the design gallery presents contemporary works in dialogue with historic design pieces, creating a layered atmosphere. “Furniture and objects come together in compositions that are at times fully saturated, at others grounded in restraint, where color enters only as an accent,” the Galerie kreo notes.

Featured contemporary designers include Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Guillaume Bardet, François Bauchet, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Marco Campardo, Pierre Charpin, Jean-Baptiste Fastrez, Jaime Hayon, Alessandro Mendini, Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson and Jerszy Seymour. Vintage works by figures such as Florence Knoll, Sergio Asti, Pierre Paulin, Gino Sarfatti, Gérard Guermonprez, Jean-Boris Lacroix, Robert Mathieu, Ernest Race, Vittorio Zecchin and Robin Day further enrich the exhibition, highlighting how colour has long shaped the evolution of modern interiors and collectible design.
