Strength in subtlety: Gentle Resilience by Christian Fregnan at Objects With Narratives

Objects With Narratives presents Gentle Resilience, a solo exhibition by Christian Fregnan on view from March 11, 2026. Gentle Resilience brings together a series of product designs that explore the expressive potential of metal—a material often associated with rigidity and weight. The Italy-based contemporary designer challenges these conventions by crafting pieces that embody both solidity and softness, merging heavy structures with organic, flowing forms. Subtle irregularities, formed through patina and hand-shaped techniques, lend individuality and life to the furniture designs. “Each piece contributes to a larger narrative, exemplifying how contradicting components can coexist to express strength in a quiet and tender way,” notes the Belgium-based design gallery.

The show’s title reflects not only the nature of the material but also Fregnan’s personal and professional journey.
