Univers Uchronia x Le Grand Palais

Le Grand Bouquet engages in a dialogue with the Antin Rotunda at the Grand Palais, reinterpreting its decorative vocabulary. Situated at the heart of the space, the work unfolds like a monumental bloom rooted in the historic architecture that houses it. Its form draws inspiration from the floral motif depicted in the floor mosaic and the plant-inspired mouldings that adorn the arcades. The stylised, luminous petals seem to emerge from the floor as if growing naturally, while their arrangement follows the circular flow of the space and guides the eye toward the ceiling of the hall. The artwork becomes a living extension of the architecture. This experience begins outside with an inflatable structure serving as an entrance. Erected on the forecourt, it welcomes visitors as an invitation to cross a threshold between the real and the imaginary at the foot of the Grand Palais. Its generous, colourful forms engage in a dialogue with the classical rigour of the façade, introducing a touch of lightness.

Joy as a tool of resistance

With Le Grand Bouquet, we aim to celebrate joy as a force of resistance and unity. Through this monumental flower blooming in the heart of the Grand Palais, the installation, on view during Paris Design Week 2026, invites visitors to marvel and share in the experience. In a context often marked by uncertainty, it affirms the power of beauty, imagination and optimism as means of forging connections and sharing a common experience.

The Grand Palais—A symbol of French culture

After four years of renovations, the Grand Palais has opened a new chapter in its history. A place where anything is possible, it invites you to experience the excitement of a festive and inclusive program: major international exhibitions, shows, performances and encounters with leading figures in contemporary art. Designed as a true living space, the Grand Palais is open to everyone and several areas are freely accessible at no charge. The Central Plaza and the Rotonde d’Antin offer visitors the chance to rediscover its architecture. Bookstores, gift shops and restaurants round out the experience. Throughout the year, the iconic glass roof is revealed from the Central Plaza behind a curtain, a monumental exhibition, conceived with the expertise of the 19th-century fashion houses thanks to the support of CHANEL, a major patron of the Grand Palais. Special attention is given to young people, with tailored tours and spaces dedicated to families, such as the Salon Seine and the Palais des Enfants. Open, vibrant and welcoming, the Grand Palais reaffirms its mission: to be a meeting place for the arts, where culture is experienced and shared in all its forms.

The centuries-old craftsmanship of the Grand Palais RMN’s casting and chalcography workshops finds its natural home in this unique setting. The boutique celebrates the richness of materials, the excellence of techniques and the uniqueness of the creations. A vibrant crossroads where art, design and the public meet.
