PRESS RELEASE

Nilufar brings its design vision to Munich, inhabiting a dedicated area of the Showroom Stephanie Thatenhorst with a selection from Nilufar Edition, its platform for experimentation—where design, craftsmanship and material research come together to shape an evolving creative language.

The presentation is curated by Nilufar’s founder Nina Yashar herself, who comments: “It’s the first time Nilufar presents its vision in such a comprehensive way in Germany. I’m especially pleased that it is taking place at Stephanie Thatenhorst, which provides the ideal context.”

The collaboration builds on an existing dialogue, as a selection of Nilufar Edition pieces has already been featured at the Munich-based showroom.

Founded by Stephanie Thatenhorst, the showroom presents a highly curated selection of exceptional interior pieces by leading national and international designers. Conceived as a lived-in environment rather than a traditional retail space, it offers an immersive and cohesive experience of contemporary interior design.

With this special installation, Nilufar’s identity merges with that of Stephanie Thatenhorst, while being further enhanced and amplified through this encounter.

Yashar's refined and eclectic vision is expressed through the selection on display: from the Dining Table Noctua by Filippo Carandini, distinguished by its nuanced shades of green achieved through a meticulous hand-painting process; to the clean lines of the Chair Dualita and Low Table Orient by david/nicolas, paired with the Orient modular sofa system by the same duo, composed by David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussalem.

The Wall lamp Lantern Stack small by Anna Karlin, whose totemic, aboriginal-inspired form merges industrial design with sculptural expression. Also featured is the Floor lamp Luminaria designed by Andrea Mancuso, inspired by the luminous atmosphere of Southern Italy’s traditional festivals and conceived as a sculptural form that conceals unexpected light sources within its structure.

Among the most eclectic pieces, these two lighting works are joined by the Ceiling lamp Asta by Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt, where light filters through layers of transparent plexiglass, creating a dynamic interplay of colour, geometry and structure.

Geometric exploration also defines the Armchair Butler, designed by Federico Peri that synthesises sculptural presence and functionality, as well as the Carpet Trilangolo by Martino Gamper, an investigation into angles, intersections and oblique forms that reflects the designer’s ongoing fascination with geometric abstraction.

Together, these works articulate Nilufar’s unique approach to design—where craftsmanship and artistic research converge—offering Munich audiences a rare opportunity to experience Nilufar’s distinctive vision within the curated and immersive setting of the Stephanie Thatenhorst showroom.

This initiative also marks an important step in strengthening Nilufar’s presence in Germany, a key market for design, fostering a dialogue with a context that closely resonates with Nilufar’s vision and continuing its commitment to expanding its international network of like-minded partners.
