What happens when we attempt to see beyond what is obvious? To look otherwise invites us to question what we think we know and notice what perhaps might remain unseen. Places are often not what they appear to be, holding within layers of memory, history and meaning.

This week, we travel to landscapes where location is far more than a mere setting. In Ladakh, the biennale makes the terrain a collaborator and in Punjab, artist Kulpreet Singh's works revisit fields marked by protest and dissent. In the late Yayoi Kusama's practice, we encounter a landscape created

via repetition and hallucination.

Across all these encounters, looking becomes a way of paying attention: to glaciers receding, farmlands that contain afterlives of numerous moments and spaces reshaped by imagination. These stories originate from different sites, but also consider what the place asks of us. They remind us that a landscape is never neutral and that looking more closely can alter how we perceive the world around us.
