Kristina Dam Studio designs the interiors for Jabr Chicken, a new eat-in and take-out restaurant in Amager, Copenhagen, that challenges conventional ideas of fast-food joint interiors and shows how simplicity, a pared-back materials palette and minimal furniture can shape a distinctive dining experience. “The ambition is clear: fast food shouldn't mean compromise, neither on the plate nor in the space where you eat. That's why the interior has been given the same attention as the food,” Kristina Dam Studio notes in an official release.

Fast-food joint and thoughtful design may not be the most obvious pairing, but at Jabr Chicken the two come together naturally. “The project began on impulse. Owner Jacob Jabr drove past the empty space, saw its potential. Together, we turned a simple, blank room into a modern fast-food restaurant with a clear and confident character,” the Denmark-based design studio explains.

Drawing inspiration from the minimalism of Japanese eateries and the understated appeal of Scandinavian design, Kristina Dam Studio approached the interior with their signature restraint. White-painted brick walls and white tiles create a clean, understated backdrop, while a bold orange-red floor adds vibrant contrast. Against this pared-back setting, the Scandinavian furniture takes centre stage.

“Brushed steel Split tables, Artisan stools in solid oak and Outline bar chairs along the window bring warmth, quality and a recognisable form to the space. Outside, the Split café tables and stools continue the look, connecting inside and out,” the contemporary design studio notes.

Jabr Chicken's interior design explores how design can elevate an everyday setting. “It has been a joy to see honest materials and simple design shape a place that feels young, modern and easy to read, and to create the identity that ties it all together. Jabr Chicken shows that a fast food restaurant can have a design identity with an edge. Here, quality chicken meets an interior that is just as sharp and honest as the food,” Kristina Dam Studio mentions.
