Italian brand Agape brings forth a moment of quiet contemplation and immersive reflection at this year’s 3daysofdesign, Copenhagen’s annual celebration of design for ‘dreamers, doers and the design curious’. Collaborating with Danish design brand File Under Pop, Agape exhibits a series of curated environments at File Under Pop’s showroom. The showcase spotlights Agape and its sister brand Agapecasa’s unique perspective on bathrooms and interior design—where each offering is conceived with considerations of space, function and form—channelling a fusion of architectural rigour and sensorial experience.

At File Under Pop’s showroom in the heart of Denmark’s capital, the Italian brand builds on more than 50 years of experience in the design of bathroom furnishings and more. Agape continues to push design culture forward with their passion for finesse, which is also reflected in Agapecasa. The sister branch was conceived in 2009 as an offshoot that reissues the timeless furniture designs of post–war Italian designer Angelo Mangiarotti. All the product designs by the brand are crafted in Italy with high-quality materials, immaculate attention to detail and efficient and environment friendly production processes. At 3daysofdesign, the exhibition reflects on the idea of the interior as a continuation of architecture itself, a shared ethos for both the Italian and Danish brands. Crafting their display as a dynamic dialogue between inside and outside, function and sensibility, the brand celebrates timelessness in conjunction with the larger theme of the design festival, dubbed Keep it Real.

The sequence of spaces at the showroom in Copenhagen offers a cumulative narrative of Agape’s evolving vision of the bathroom. Featuring designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Marcio Kogan and Angelo Mangiarotti, it offers a peek at effortless and functional design. The first highlight in the display is Urquiola’s Cenote washbasin, with the new Bloque system. This scenography is further strengthened by Agape’s Lariana bathtub, Flat D shower, Stairs, Rendez-vous and Vis-à-vis designs. In the section dedicated to Agapecasa, Mangiarotti’s Eros dining table takes centre stage, which is accompanied by Tre3 and Cavalletto to showcase a complete vision of the furniture’s setting.

The composition emphasises Mangiarotti’s unique ability to balance form with emotional resonance, bringing out the expressive potential of materials such as marble. The final display features a striking interpretation of the DR bathtub by Kogan, spotlighting the versatility of both Agape and Agapecasa. The bathtub has been reimagined with a bespoke outer shell clad in tiles by File Under Pop. The hand-laid ceramic tiles, Under My Skin, transform the tub into a sculptural object, with a rich chromatic hue. The scenography also includes the Bijhon1 washbasin, Voilà mirror and Cavalletto, bringing attention to the beauty of materiality and geometry.

Interestingly, Agape’s partnership with the Danish company extends to File Under Pop Casa at Papirøen, an emerging community-oriented district, for the duration of the design festival from June 18 – 20, 2025. Within the open house exhibition, different rooms are peppered with textured surfaces, lighting designs and furniture, so that visitors can gain a sensory understanding of the products. The Italian company has furnished bathrooms with their designs, which are fully functional for the event.

Agape’s diverse programming for one of Denmark’s most dynamic events dedicated to design excellence includes the launch of a new publication. The company unveils a book detailing the close professional and personal connection between Mangiarotti and photographer Giorgio Casali. Titled Framing the Project, the book offers a critical new reading of the designer, edited by Anna Mainoli and Francesca Acerboni. The volume includes black and white photographs taken by Casali of Mangiarotti’s contributions to Italian design and architecture.

From the sensorial to the architectural and refined, Agape’s display for the Danish festival offers perspectives on interior design, speaking on the detail-oriented nature of craftsmanship, refined over 50 years by the brand.
