Italian furniture brand Rimadesio has unveiled its renovated London flagship store along with a new furniture design collection by Italian architect and designer Giuseppe Bavuso, presented as part of a curated program of events titled Modernity Flow—Extended. The initiativeintroduced across the brand’s major global showrooms—follows the official launch of the collection, Modernity Flow, during Milan Design Week 2025. Each venue features bespoke design installations presented  in a conceptual light.

The brand’s London store has undergone an extensive ground floor renovation, introducing a renewed sense of visual harmony and material continuity throughout the space. It now features an installation of the Modulor wall panel system, a suspended Self Plan desk and a Tray pouf. “The driving idea behind the curation of our London showroom was to create an immersive experience where design and architecture seamlessly interact. We wanted the showroom to feel like a living, evolving space showcasing not just individual pieces, but the broader ethos of Rimadesio as a whole. Each zone within the showroom is curated to highlight specific elements of our collection, paired with cutting-edge lighting and architectural details to emphasise the quality and craftsmanship behind our products,” the brands spokesperson told STIR. An Air Plus system is also an inviting addition to the store, showcasing a fixed panel and a pivoting Air door. The basement level brings forth the new Zenit walk-in closet, along with a backdrop of 303 Bronzo Aluminium panels. “The bespoke design is a dialogue between past and future, presenting our furniture not only as functional pieces but as elements of an environment that embodies modern luxury and design intelligence,” the brand added.

Moreover, the introduced collection is based on a ‘formal quality’ in the context of modernity, as the brand states, where every piece features distinguished finishes and stylistic coherence. “The ‘formal quality’ we’ve integrated into the new collection is deeply connected to a refined sense of contemporary design language that balances elegance with minimalism. In the context of modernity, it’s about creating timeless pieces that respond to both functionality and aesthetic rigour. Our designs embrace clean lines, precision and understated luxury, ensuring that each piece maintains relevance over time,” the brand continued. The details, according to Rimadesio, are precisely what anchors the collection in a ‘modern yet timeless sensibility’, merging innovative design with a minimalist framework. From sanding and finishing to the stitching of upholstery, expert craftsmanship shows in every step of the process, contributing to the inherent harmony of the Italian design collection.

Exploring distinct textures, surfaces and a neutral colour palette, the collection comprises the Lambda table, Sinua chair and armchair, Wabi chair, Sophis chair and Nest swivel armchair. The Lambda table design—visually resembling the Greek alphabet lambda (λ)—prioritises detailing of its base in which rectilinear shapes rise and converge toward the centre. The form of the base resembles folding sheets of paper and has a certain sculptural quality to it. Available in two versions, featuring elliptical and circular tabletops, the design comes in wood, marble and Terrae variations, becoming a great fit for residential and commercial spaces.

The Sinua chair stands out with its uniquely designed wooden frame that supports the entire upholstery element. The chair design is versatile with a variety of finishes: its wooden frame is available in Rovere Chiaro, Rovere Termotrattato and Rovere Nero finishes, along with fabric or leather upholstery. While the Sinua armchair features a similar upholstery design, it comes with an additional back cushion and a relaxed backrest profile. With a padded and upholstered central shell, it uniquely embodies the ‘formal’ design character that the collection stands for.

A closer look at the seating collection offers a compelling palette of sculptural forms and material expression. The Wabi chair, in its visually light appearence, blends oriental influences with Northern European design traditions, resulting in a distinctly contemporary expression. The Sophis chair features a streamlined body that seamlessly transitions from the seat to the backrest, embedding an upholstered seat that follows the natural profile of the frame. Further, the Nest swivel armchair features sinuous lines and solid forms, highlighting the texture of the leather and fabric upholstery. On the inside of the chair, padding is distributed differently between the seat and the backrest to ensure optimum comfort, along with an additional lower back cushion.

With Bavuso’s collection anchoring this latest chapter, the brand reasserts its evolving creative identity and reconnects with the global design landscape with its newly renovated showroom. Modernity Flow—Extended underscores Rimadesio’s ongoing pursuit of balance between Italian heritage design and contemporary innovation, between craft and technology. Together, the interventions demonstrate how modernity, when approached with restraint and intention, can remain continuous and timeless.
