A new perspective on furniture and accessories
Script, part of Godrej group, showcases a new perspective on furniture and accessories as it believes that fresh design thinking can create home spaces that liberate and empower people.
Their products are intelligent, purposeful, and aesthetically designed entirely around the user – their new habits, hobbies and activities to create a fluid living experience. Rather than being limited by furniture, one gets to choose how they interact with furniture and the living space around them.

Like an armchair, a table, a shelf and accessories that work together as an ecosystem for one’s reading routine. Or a bed that doubles effortlessly as a work desk. This fluidity of design and purpose is the essence of Script.
With Script, let your imagination decide what furniture should do. Experiment to give it multiple purposes, in multiple rooms, in multiple ways.

At the forefront of Script, Rajat Mathur has spearheaded every aspect of the brand since its inception. Equipped with an MBA in Marketing Management, Mathur has over 18 years of experience working with global conglomerates and expertise in retail business development and operations. Elaborating the brand's philosophy, Mathur, Business Head, Script, says, “At Script, we believe that life should be lived with ease and joy. Our products are intelligent, purposeful, and aesthetically designed around your daily habits and activities to give you a fluid living experience".
He also believes that the furniture should be adaptive, and not limit you. "Combining beauty and intelligence, Script is a unique perspective on furniture and accessory design that offers a fluid living experience. Inspired by contemporary living, it breaks free of traditional rules for an unbridled, intuitive, and meaningful way of interacting with furniture. Furniture, whose smallest detail is thought through. Furniture that cares for the planet and you. This is the new way of living," adds Mathur.
The new Script store in Kolkata
In August 2020, Script throws open the doors of its flagship store in Kolkata, located on Park Street. Kolkata residents can walk around the 6,500 sqft store to discover furniture and accessories that can elevate their home experience.
The elements used throughout the stores are so unique they always arouse interest—whether it is about the materials used or the design itself. Designed to be intuitive while browsing, the products are displayed in a simple disposition, allowing one to spend quality time discovering its essence.
Taking forward Godrej’s heritage with brass—which from its early days used brass locks, the brand continues the brass story by subtly using this element throughout its stores.
From the terrazzo floors made by pouring concrete mixed with brass dust and chips, which were taken from the lock’s division, to brass strips used in the racking fixtures or the grommets in the ground.
Script has five functional stores with three in Delhi and one each in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
In a few months, Script will open a second store in Mumbai, located in the suburb of Vikhroli. The brand's flagship store in Mumbai opened in July 2019 at Godrej Bhavan, situated in the iconic Fort area.
Script was launched in December 2017, with the opening of the spacious 12,000 sqft store in Indira Nagar, Bengaluru. The brand then came to New Delhi, opening the Kirti Nagar store in September 2018, followed by the Gurugram and Lajpat Nagar stores in June 2019.
