Voixatch or Legacy is said to be the world’s first cellular enabled smartwatch with a built-in Bluetooth bezel enabling you to stay connected, irrespective of whether or not you have your smartphone at hand. The 49x49x15 mm patented all-in-one design integrates the ultimate smartphone technology, working on both cellular and GPS connectivity modes, to guarantee exceptional portability. In addition to the multi-pairing of your smartphone to your Voixatch, the Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 technology headset fine tunes dynamic sound with a Knowles BA Speaker. Designed by Korean designers Young Kwon Oh and Jason Oh, the waterproof Voixatch comes equipped with an ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, and a 1.3-inch AMOLED display, combining the capabilities of a smartphone and a smartwatch to allow you to stay connected whenever and wherever you are.
Embedded within the bezel of the multifaceted smartwatch is a detachable ring that effortlessly turns into a Bluetooth headset. Designed to sit evenly around the watch’s circular display rim, the bezel can be released by a simple anticlockwise twisting and lifting movement. This detaches the headset off the body of the watch to fit comfortably into your ear to receive phone calls. The wing-shaped protrusion ensures that it doesn’t slip off mid-use once fastened onto the ear. Keeping the bezel intact in this manner makes the watch less prone to misplacements.
The detachable Bluetooth headset, which comes with a 530mAh battery life and three hours of talk time, can easily be recharged by docking the headset back onto the body of the watch. This instantly activates the charging of the headset, thereby alleviating the worry of running out of power or the hassle of carrying additional charging devices.
Voixatch’s dynamic design lets you customise your watch by swapping bezels between four available colours to determine which best compliments your look on a given day. The ease with which one can automatically pair the body of the watch with the bezels allows the user the convenience of matching it to their desired look.
Voixatch is powered by Google Voice; the user interface regulating the functions of the watch with the spoken commands. Compatible with your existing smartphone, it features on-wrist notifications for calls, messages, and alerts from social media apps. Moreover, incorporating the latest sensors, the Voixatch gives you on-wrist health and fitness feedback using a pedometer, calorie counter, heart-rate tracker and a variety of other such services.
The inspiration for creating Voixatch came from its inventor – Jason Oh. Recovering from a judo injury, Jason struggled with making phone calls through his smartwatch. Determined to relieve people from similar difficulties inspired him to create the smartwatch that integrates the convenience and functionality of three separate gadgets in a single device. “We want to create easier and unique choices for your life. With specialists and partners in our team, we are ready to give you the ‘Legacy’ by earning the trust of our backers,” mentions Jason Oh.
