An initiative by Switzerland-based Three C Group, the 3C Awards curates and provides a platform for the most ingenious and creative design interventions from around the globe. The 3C Awards intend to represent today’s diversity and innovation in lighting design, furniture design, sports design, interior design, and architecture. As part of this mission, the organisation conducts awards in related fields to promote and appreciate emerging designers and professionals. LIV Hospitality Design Awards and SIT Furniture Design Awards launched in 2020 have since been exceptional platforms for upcoming ideas, designs and approaches.
LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2021
LIV Hospitality Design Awards announced the winners of its second edition, celebrating the excellence and diversity of architectural and interior design projects in the hospitality industry. LIV Awards pursue exceptional projects in the context of Eating and Living Spaces that vary from co-living, and boutique hotels to beach resorts, from fine dining restaurants and lounges to pop-up bars. Since the commencement of the 2021 edition on October 31, 400 submissions from 43 countries were received of which seven exceptional projects were titled Architecture Design of the Year, Interior Designer of the Year, Emerging Architect of the Year, and Emerging Interior Designer of the Year under the categories of Living and Eating spaces.
The award brings together professionals and students from across the globe to recognise the groundbreaking designs that stand out based on new concepts, innovations, sustainability initiatives, and property design stories. In the concourse of the 21st century's attention and dynamism to hospitality establishments, the design award creates an inclusive platform for architects and designers around the world to exhibit and promote their unique attention to the growing needs and trends.
Here are some of the winning entries that were commended with eminent titles in the LIV Awards 2021.
LIV Architectural Design of the Year
'Wan Chu-One Avenue' in China, a restaurant moulded in the distinctive style and fine elegance of Huizhou culture, craftsmanship, architecture, and art designed by Lu & Yang Design Company was titled Architectural Design of the Year under the Eating Space category. The Architectural Design of the Year under the Living Space category was awarded to a fire flame-like homestay in Vietnam, nicknamed 'Tiny Club House' by A+ Architects. The design by Jodel Bismarc Mekemta, 'Yoyo Ecoresort: when biomimicry and well-being become one', aims to be the very first futuristic ecotourism project in Africa, bestowed with the Emerging Architect of the Year under the Living Space category.
LIV Interior Design of the Year
Under the titles of Interior Design of the Year are 'Buddha Bar' in New York by YOD Group, designed around the concept of reincarnation, and the grand restoration of the 'Fairmont Olympic' in Seattle, led by MG2 under the categories of Eating Space and Living Space respectively. Jo Mengran Liao of Savannah College of Art and Design in the United States was bestowed with the title of Emerging Interior Designer of the Year in Living Spaces for the proposal of a luxurious and cosy memory care facility named 'Sheltered Tranquility'. 'Peon', a destination venue for the Melbourne-based floral artist, restaurateur, and zero waste advocate, Joost Bakker, conferred the Emerging Interior Designer of the Year in Eating Spaces to Ellie Sutton.
Apart from the winning entries, the diverse array of noteworthy works included designs by Wanda Hotel Design Institute, Virserius Studio for Hilton, Kelly Wearstler for the Downtown LA Proper Hotel, The Ascott Limited with lyf Tenjin Fukuoka in the co-living category, the Burgenstock Resort in Switzerland by MKV Design and The Street by Sanjay Puri Architects. Furthermore, the honorees included CambridgeSeven for the Hilton Garden Inn Boston, Bodumas (an overwater seafood restaurant) at Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives designed by MOTIV Studio. In interior design, Stickman Tribe based in Dubai won in the Luxury Hotel category with The Westin Mina Seyahi Lobby while Meyer Davis company was honoured with the brand-new W Hotel, Rome.

SIT Furniture Design Award 2021
Celebrating the creativity and innovative visions of furniture design and its adaptability in interior spaces, SIT Furniture Design Award announced some of the most incredible furniture and furniture-centric interior designs of 2021. For the second edition of the awards, the jury panel assessed about 350 submissions from 47 countries to recognise the most pioneering designs based on aesthetics, functionality and innovation. Here are some of the winners of SIT Furniture Design Awards 2021.
The May lounge armchair by Jader Almeida was announced as Furniture of the Year, followed by Nidhi Nimodia being awarded the Emerging Furniture Designer of the Year for her design 'Fika', an outdoor chair. Centrsvet's Infinity Air by Alexander Vorontsov, designed to be a single track luminaire and air distribution system, was bestowed with the Innovation of the Year title. In addition to the unique furniture, the interior spaces that incorporated furniture as a statement element to their designs were also recognised. 'Junegrass House' by Messana O'Rorke was named as Interior Design of the Year and Narges Shah Ahmad Ghasemi was announced as Emerging Interior Designer of the Year for the design of 'Café Pars' in Iran.
Some of the honorary entries in Furniture Design include 'CoZee XL' by Michael Samuel for Tutti Bambini, Maytoni Gmbh for 'Amulet', a decorative accent lamp, Vinci Design Studio with the 'Mau' chair, Karim Rashid for the 'Keen Sun Chaise' and Kitchoo SA's 'Kitchoo K9', a smart tiny kitchen. As stated by the program director, Astrid Hebert, the SIT Design Award strives to support and promote not only inspired projects and innovation by professional designers but also fresh and stimulating work by emerging designers and students.
