“Personal interpretation forms the essence of every living space,” states renowned Italian brand Meridiani, introducing their recent series of furniture pieces. Unveiled at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025, my home is ME presents a powerful narrative, suggesting that within the domestic space, the identity of the inhabitant informs the emotional quotient of the interiors design. This idea of the home as an extension of one's self shaped a progression of experiential spaces—which were on view from April 8 – 13, 2025, at the Fiera Milano Rho—thoughtfully put together by designer and art director Andrea Parisio. Positioning Meridiani as a key voice in the realm of bespoke interiors, the showcase placed users at the centre of design and celebrated individuality and emotional resonance.
Founded in 1996 in Brianza, north of Italy’s fashion and design centre, Milan, Meridiani is known for its timeless and versatile contemporary design collections that symbolise homes as bodies and furniture as dresses to be worn. At the beginning of its journey, Meridiani was the destination of high-quality upholstered furniture, before it transitioned into creating domestic furniture. After joining Italian design group Dexelance in 2016, Meridiani now has a presence in over 50 countries. A quiet, delicate luxury often exudes from their furniture pieces, the designs of which are informed by expert craftsmanship, deep technical know-how and a strong affinity with materiality, which allows personal interpretations within intimate living experiences.
The design installation weaves together three distinct narratives into one. The first home is a model for contemporary design and living, featuring essential forms within a monochromatic setting. While this space internalises a dialogue between sleek steel surfaces and vibrant lacquered finishes, the second features soft, traditional forms made from oak, leather and hide, complemented by accent colours. Additionally, a series of wooden furniture against the backdrop of warm, earthen tones makes the spaces seem inviting and harmonious.
Alongside the curated spaces, Meridiani also presented its latest designs and a special collection. The Roger sofa design is inspired by classic forms, featuring continuous seating that bends at 90 degrees to ensure genuine comfort. Embracing a contemporary approach, the modular design is also available in a variant, Roger Ghost, which features a singular, straight sofa that exudes a sense of softness with its smooth, uniform upholstery. A series of tables, Frank forefronts materiality by seeking the perfect balance between strength and refinement. Similarly, echoing the lexicon of the Frank collection, the three-legged red desk Henry is composed of organic forms, featuring a curved tabletop that brings a sense of bold sophistication to an everyday workspace. The small Jeanette sofa and armchair are ideal for compact spaces, marked by a sculptural language that makes a robust statement.
Pushing the boundaries of domestic environments, the showcase utilises generative AI technology for the third installation in which a screen is transformed into a virtual canvas for dreams. The interactive installation allowed visitors to create real-time renderings, shaping their ideas with the software that has been developed and presented by Dexelance. An embodiment of Meridiani’s vision, the installation reflects the personal identities of the users, encouraging them to look inwards.
Embodying tradition, innovation and evolution, Meridiani’s showcase is a declaration of the brand's enduring, distinctive and unconventional identity. The concept my home is ME extends beyond the bounds of the design exhibition, proliferating within the early 20th century building of the Meridiani store in Milan. A series of selected works from the brand’s 2025 advertising campaign adorn the entrance, familiarising visitors with the new vision.
