While the pandemic has forced us to alter our habits, it has also given us a chance to embrace new routines and lifestyles. Many of these were at present in Poltrona Frau’s thoughts: the versatility of spaces and furnishings to meet our new personal and professional needs; multisensory pleasure as opposed to purely aesthetic pleasure; and the desire to use our time differently, in a more informed, hands-on, and active manner. Making the most of this downtime, giving it a sense and a sensory dimension - is the core theme of the new Poltrona Frau collection. “Take Your Time. Feel the difference” is an ode to tranquillity or, should we say, understanding. "With our social lives reduced and our domestic spaces lived-in and experienced more intensely than ever before,” explains Nicola Coropulis, Poltrona Frau Group CEO. “We have a chance to concentrate on the present, savour every moment, and enjoy all those sensations, no matter how fleeting, that we didn't have time for before in our whirlwind of daily commitments in and outside the home. This opportunity to review our priorities, though enforced, gives us the chance to enjoy a better quality of living,” he adds.

Emotionally and psychologically we are more receptive, more open to appreciating, feeling, and touching the details with our hands; different elements that contribute to a richer and more satisfying multisensory experience. Let’s discover them in detail:

Smell

Acqua di Parma meets Poltrona Frau. From the meeting of two historic and iconic purveyors of Made in Italy comes a project that combines domotics, aesthetics, and innovation for an intense and engaging multisensory experience. Airound is the first Smart Home Diffuser to offer an original and innovative way of experiencing home fragrances. The Pelle Frau leather upholstery, expertly handcrafted with stitching and sartorial details, exalts the sculpted effect of the object and meets the fresh luminosity of the Acqua di Parma Home Collection fragrances. This creative synergy continues with Airound Car Diffuser, the first Italian-made designer car diffuser. An elegant design object, conceived down to the finest of details, guarantees an enveloping sensory experience even when you travel.

Touch

The Poltrona Frau and Loro Piana Interiors collaboration stems from a desire to expand their range of high-end fabric upholstery, guaranteeing clients an even more valuable tactile experience. The two luxury brands share Italy’s passion for quality raw materials and expert craftsmanship, common values that have enabled them to explore new territories and take advantage of each other's specific experiences. Poltrona Frau has chosen four of the finest Loro Piana Interiors fabrics to create two collections inspired by the respective geographical origins of the fibres from which they are made and their historic roots: Aboriginal, for the Merino wools of Australia and New Zealand, evoking the traditional native language of the Australasian continent, and Kashmiri, the vast and fascinating region of the Himalayas, from which the first cuts of cashmere left for Europe in the 19th century. “Our new 2021 collection demonstrates how Poltrona Frau's values are always in line with the constant changes occurring within contemporary living, enabling us to interpret and reorganise our everyday lives," concludes Coropulis.
