Andreu World probes the future of design with new collections at Milan Design Week

The globally renowned furniture brand sets up its Milan showroom to stir conversations around manufacturing a better world through sustainable design and material innovation.

Globally acclaimed for their innovations in furniture design, Andreu World has been at the centre of conversations around pioneering design methodologies and elevating spaces through sustainable manufacturing and practices. With the global stage for design all set with Milan Design Week 2026, the brand continues these essential conversations around sustainability at their Milan showroom, set to be activated through a series of talks, new products and launches, and engaging showcases of material innovation.

For the famed design week this year, Andreu World’s showroom space in Milan has been prepped as a rendezvous point for multiple conversations surrounding the future of design as a ‘tool for positive impact’. With a display of Andreu World’s new furniture collections by industrial designer and Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola and British industrial designer Benjamin Hubert, the brand aims to foster dialogues exploring the role of conscious design in building a more environmentally equitable future. This will be accompanied by a series of talks with both designers as a part of the brand’s ‘Meet the Designer’ initiative, bringing together maker and product under one roof.

The highlight of this year’s display during Milan Design Week 2026 is an enhanced application of Andreu World’s BIO® thermopolymer. As its name suggests, the material is derived from microorganisms in nature, is biodegradable and compostable. For its next stage, Urquiola has introduced the polymer in a refreshed colour palette—white, sand, basalt grey, black, dark grey, clay brown, olive green, mist blue, terracotta and rust red. The curation features tones selected to offer a mix of balanced, organic and contemporary accents, not just to respond to ongoing trends but for establishing a connection between the material and its natural context.

Beyond this defining material, the rest of the products—including a range of outdoor and indoor furniture selections from the Bolete, Brezal, Sir, Oru, Calma Lounge, Triada and Raglan collections—also make use of recycled and repurposed components to align the product lifecycle with one of the defining principles of a circular economy: from cradle to cradle, facilitating the use of waste from one cycle as a raw material in another.

The staging of the displays in the brand’s Milan showroom too is intended to be part of the experience. Designed by Urquiola herself, the space is intended to be more than a showcase, highlighting the transformative role of design in our environment. By channelling the brand’s expertise in industrial design and circular design across a palette of concrete, wood and stone, she defined the showroom space as a testimony of Andreu World’s design vision.

Over the last few years, the brand’s deep-rooted commitment to developing a sustainable manufacturing practice has been further boosted by the launch of their ‘most sustainable lounge chair’ and being granted the TÜV OK Biobased, B Corp and ‘Zero Waste’ certifications, along with initiating the Circular Design Challenge. With their latest furniture collections designed by Urquiola and Hubert, Andreu World offers to elevate spatial experiences for a diverse range of building typologies, including hospitality, workplace and residential environments, all the while reinforcing its commitment to quality and sustainability through continued material innovation paired with contemporary expression. As the brand expands to even more prominent centres of design worldwide, including New York, London, Valencia, Milan, Mumbai, Gurugram, Pune and Paris, ‘Manufacturing a Better World’ remains an anchor as well as a clarion call.
